Being named Jeanne Kelly after your father who is Gene Kelly you grow up watching Gene Kelly movies-now I do not think there is such a thing as a bad Gene Kelly movie but my favourites are Singing in the Rain and An American in Paris...and I bet that everyone here knows some of the music or will recognise at least a dance sequence from one of these movies......but I love most of the MGM musicals...and any time I find one on tv I will usually sit and watch it......another favourite of mine is Hello Dolly......I always wanted to be like Dolly Levi when she walks into the restaurant in NY and everyone sings that they are glad to see her........but that is a silly dream of mine...that I would be so missed by anyone that my return would make everyone ecstatically happy especially it seems to be rarely noticed when I leave......*shakes head* anyway in my eyes there is nothing more uplifting than any of the MGM musicals-whether it is Gene Kelly or Judy Garland or Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers...

OH musicals, my father hated them, wouldn't allow them to be on. I imagine people won't take that serious but it is true. Anyway, being in choir and band I still got to see a few musicals. We watched South Pacific...oh god..."talking talking" lol. Then there were musicals at our school like Oklahoma (the year before I was in high school), George M. which happened to be one of the worst musicals I've ever seen. Then there was Pirates of Penzance...my personal favorite, I love that musical. We had talked about doing Joseph and the Technicolor dreamcoat but we ran out of time to do a musical. Into the woods is an awesome musical as well. ^_^, then again I am obsessed with everything to do with fairytale classics. ^_^

I love Musicals. I've seen quite a few and adore then. *smiles* My family liked them to. *nods* Though I was named after my grandmother who was named after Judy Garland(sp?).

I absolutely love musicals as well!! I love them so much, that I have had this recent dream to be in a musical on stage....I already sing in my church choir, and have recently started taking Jazz dance classes....and I just think that it would be so much fun to get up on stage and sing and dance...~shrugs~though I doubt it would ever happen...and I'm not named after any one famous on the musical scene......As a side note,...I cannot wait until RENT the movie comes out on Nov. 23rd!!! It's my favorite musical tied with Wicked!!!

I saw it-Gene Kelly was in it. One of my all time recent favourites is Moulin Rouge-and any musical or movie by Bob Fosse is amazing.

The more I am in music, the more musicals that I learn about and I like. Like I have mentioned before, we performed Pirates of Penzance and it is now one of my favorite musicals. I have yet to see all of The sound of music. I remember my 6th grade band teacher offering me extra credit if I would watch it because I had never seen it before...none of it. My father isn't exactly a fan of musicals...or anything remotely like classical music. But oh well. And as far as wicked goes, I am officially jealous of all who have and are going to see it. I have the entire soundtrack memorized and perform it to myself when no one is around to see

Oh and I so would! though it would only be a performance of the soundtrack, I do not have the script, though I am sure I could probably find it somewhere, I actually heard something somewhere that there is a video recording of it somewhere. But who knows?
